Dear Family and Friends,

It’s December 12, 2023 as I write this letter, the temperature is currently 38 degrees and rain is on the way. According to my weather app, there is a 57% chance today, 91% tomorrow and 82% on Friday! Actually, we are going to have a mild and possibly wet Christmas with highs in the lower to high 50’s, if Accu Weather is correct. What a wonderful blessing from Heaven! Hopefully this land is on the way out of a 3 year+ drought!

Kids are growing up and families are branching out, yet we still take the time to honor our Oak Family Christmas. This year on Saturday, December 16, 2023, it will be the 65Th year we have celebrated it in this house! Our celebration is much like the old TV show, The Waltons. Everyone brings a covered dish to share... so much food... from lasagna to every dessert one can imagine!

While a slide show of past Oak Family Christmases plays on the TV in the background, we enjoy the memories as we visit. Some are playing Ping-Pong, others a game of cards but the highlight is the reading of the story of the Christ Child from Luke chapter 2 out of the Holy Bible. After the reading of the scriptures, we join our voices together as we sing old familiar Christmas carols. It is partly tradition and partly love of family that brings us together. What an amazing legacy for our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to witness in this broken world!

Yes, God is LOVE and families were His idea...His best expression of LOVE! He was the first Father to give away the bride. According to Psalm 139, Father God wrote a book about every person ever conceived BEFORE He created the universe and then the worlds! The title of each book is that person’s name! (So, even if you think your name came from your parents...it really was implanted in their minds by Father God!) these books were placed on a shelf in the Heavenly library along with the books about the creation of the lands, the boundary’s where each person would live, the time and season of their life. Nothing is random.

We can read a short story in the book of Genesis about creation. When God took a pile of earth and formed a human being, just as a sculptor would form a piece of art, He made the human being in His image... the human actually looked like His Father God! When God blew His Holy Breath, a part of His Spirit, into the human being... it became a living, breathing man!

We know from the scriptures that evil has been present in this world for thousands of years... it’s a broken world. If we continue to read the Holy Bible, we get a picture of history and why we are here on this present earth. When we believe the WORD of God, repent from our sins, and receive Jesus Christ as our personal savior and are born again, baptized in the Spirit, then God gives His angels instructions to get our book down off the shelf.

God has written in each book all of His hopes, dreams and desires for our life here on earth.. every detail and not one thing was bad! We activate His divine help, His ministering and warring angels when we accept Jesus as our Savior and are obedient to His WORD. He instructs them to come to earth and help us get on the pathway He has written about our life. We must remember that God equates LOVE with obedience. (John 14:15: If you love me, then obey me)

Three things Jesus said were important. The first are the two greatest commandments... we are to love the LORD our God above all things and to Love our neighbor as you love yourself. The second is to confess our sins and repent...turn away from repeating the things we are repenting from. The third is to forgive those who have caused us harm in any way. If we do not forgive others God will not forgive us.

(Matthew chapter 6: 14-15: “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”)

It was the price of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ ... it was His shed blood on the cross that caused God to forgive all human beings for their sins. That is why the angels sang “Glory to God in the highest... Peace on earth and good will to man”, when they announced the birth of the Savior to the shepherds. God was no longer angry with all humans because His only begotten Son was come to earth as a human being to redeem us back into the Family of God!

Our time here on earth is only a very thin line in eternity. I guess you could say that we are actually qualifying for our position in the coming 1000-year reign of Jesus Christ here on earth... as it is written in the book of Revelation.

Revelation 20:1: “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Time is short...much shorter today than it was 2000 years ago! Someday very soon Jesus will return for His brothers and sisters who have believed in Him. My prayer for you all is that if you have not received Jesus as your Savior... that you consider the cost and choose wisely. We cannot change the past, but God says that when we repent of our sins, He does not remember them... they do not exist. Today exists, and the future is waiting for us. In the Holy Bible, Romans chapter 8:1, it literally says that there is NO file anywhere of your sins.. repented sins are erased and there is no evidence against you in the courts of Heaven! Jesus’s precious blood has covered every sin! It is as if they never were! You are clean and holy because of Jesus’ blood shed for the remission of all sin in every age known to man...past, present and future!

What an amazing gift! Glory, Honor and Praise to the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob! Thank you Jesus for laying aside your kingship in Heaven and coming to earth to redeem us back into the Family of God! Surely, our God is a God of compassion, LOVE, Peace, Joy, Mercy and Grace! He is also the God who repays our enemies for the bad, unlawful and unfair things done to His children. He does this in His own timing. He says that vengeance is His to repay, we are to love our enemy and pray for them to come to know Jesus... because every human being was formed with great love in the image of our Awesome God and He loves everyone... not desiring that anyone should perish, but that everyone would be saved and live with Him forever as His Family.

Merry and Blessed Christmas from my house to your house and a Happy and prosperous New Year!!!

Many Blessing, Much Love,

Karen

 2023 - Loui and me

The LORD has been good to me!  I will be 72 in April and Loui will be 1 year and 4 months old.  We make a good team.  When I pray and shout Hallelujah.... Loui walks on his hind feet and jumps up with his front paws in the air barking his own hallelujah!  Loui was a birthday gift last year from one of my sons and his family.  What a surprise he was!

Love and blessings from my house to yours!

Which Bible Version???

 Hello Friends!

It's been quite the ride for the past several years!  I hope you are all blessed in every way!  We have all gone through trials and tribulations as the world around us has dramatically changed in a very short amount of time!  Many of us have lost family members and friends in this season of COVID and other illnesses.

As we search for answers in this brave new world of technology.... we find that facts change as knowledge increases.  We also find that absolute truth does not change!  For example; if you toss a rubber ball in the air, it will come down...somewhere... because gravity pulls it down. That is truth.  There are books classified as fiction and nonfiction plus various other sub-classifications.  The division of books is made by what the written material applies to... does it apply to the imagination, to the application of a principle or project and so on.

A friend and I were talking the other day about Bible versions.  My friend had the Bible which the LORD brought to her attention.  It wasn't the same version I had, so I was wondering how many others are wondering which Bible version is the right Bible?

The first Bible God led me to was "The Way". Then a friend bought me a KJV, like hers.... which I had trouble understanding, but I finally got it! I just kept reading until it finally made sense to me! It was quite a process, as I had to unlearn “religious” ideas in order to understand what I was reading!

Then, I became a KJV only for many years. I started using other versions, mostly online... mainly the Amplified because I was digging deep into Genesis, and I had a lot of questions! All of that deep digging led me to the other history books that did not make into the Bible.

A very dear friend wanted me to get “The Passion Bible” for a couple of years before I actually bought a copy. Then, as I began to read it, I started to understand why. Much of it is translated from the Aramaic, which was the street language of the area in which Jesus lived and taught. It would probably have been the language he spoke in the most. The whole Bible is not taken from one language, but several. Some words have no English translation and many Hebrew idioms have more than one meaning! It takes time to do early language studies, Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic and probably the best version we have today is the KJV. A lot of men paid with their lives to have it assembled and printed!

It has been my experience that God brings us to the Bible version we need at exactly the right time! When we are ready to expand our mind to different concepts, it seems He brings us to the versions we need to understand what He is showing us. It’s important to remember, we look at the Words of the Bibles we are reading through the filter of the knowledge we have at the time.

The WORD says when you ask for wisdom & knowledge... ask for understanding. So, there are times, when one version just doesn't help get the point across. Sometimes we need to do research... using a concordance and other reference books, history books, other Bible versions to get the context of the portion we are reading in relation to the time it was written and the time we are living. God speaks to us in many ways, but we can only know Him through our relationship with His only begotten Son, Jesus the Messiah. God gave us Jesus and Jesus gave us His Holy Spirit. It is written that the Holy Spirit will give us understanding of the Holy Bible and... without the guidance of Holy Spirit, the Word of God does not make sense. If we seek Him with all our heart, we will find Him! HE is Jesus, who actually is The Way, The Truth and The LIFE.

As we get a better understanding of God's intentions, we ask different questions, just as a child asks simple questions, but more complicated as they grow up in understanding.

I think, there is enough information in most Bible versions... even in the NIV, to give people the basic concepts of God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. This is probably enough to lead them to the point of salvation. But there is so much more! In the book of Proverbs, it is written:

(King James Bible)

Proverbs of Solomon:

Proverbs 25:1,2

 1. These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out.

2. It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

God really does hide things in His Word to be revealed to those who love Him enough to search it out!

When I was KJV only... I didn't realize that I had made it "the Law"... I would not listen to or read any other version because I had been deceived by the religious rules of different churches. I thought I now had the only truth with the words written in the King James Version. Sadly, may of the rules of the religious churches I had belonged to did not line up with the written word of the KJV. I wanted to know the TRUTH!

I wanted to know the truth because I was tired of being lied to or led astray by a wrong interpretation. I thought the KJV would be that TRUTH. But I was making it a "letter of the law" to live by and putting it above the real TRUTH, WAY & LIFE... who is JESUS! I was not baptized in the Holy Spirit early on in my life. I guess that is why I thought I needed to live by the law of the word! Without realizing it, I had become as religious as the religious rulers I was trying to get away from!

The BIBLE says the letter of the law kills, but the SPIRIT gives life.

Where the Spirit is there is freedom! We have the freedom to love and with the help of our GOD, to live our lives in peace, joy and grace... no matter what is going in the world during our time here on this present earth! What an amazing gift we have been given... the freedom to choose eternal life with our Father GOD through the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus!

If you do not know about Jesus and what He did. You can read about Him in the book of John. The book of Hebrews is another excellent portray of what Jesus did.  The Passion Bible is a good easy to read way to start learning about Jesus. The numerous footnotes are especially helpful. There are other versions that are easy to read... even the King James Version isn’t too difficult, once you get over the old-style English! We don’t talk in the words of “Thee & Thou, thy and thine”... our English language has changed and so have the meaning of many words. There is no Bible version translated perfectly by man because not all of the original transcripts have survived intact. However, in recent years, with the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, there is absolute confirmation of some of the books of the Bible. There are hundreds of Bible Versions today.  It is sad that many have taken away and/or added to the Bible in order to copyright that particular version.

When GOD speaks, stuff happens!  We are instructed by GOD not to add to or to take away from His WORD!  (There is a most severe penalty for doing so). GOD has promised that Holy Spirit will guide us in all truth.  Holy Spirit will show us the way to go. We must trust Him.  It is impossible for GOD to lie.

We must have the guidance of Holy Spirit to choose which Bible we should begin to read.  It is Holy Spirit that gives the understanding. Every WORD in the Bible was absolutely inspired by GOD and given to His prophets and Apostles to record! Every WORD of GOD is a LIVING WORD.  I sometimes think of my Bible as having layers.... each time I read the WORD; my understanding is enlightened a little more.  Many times, Holy Spirit will tell me to "look up or search out" a single word or even a passage to get a better understanding of what I am reading.

I will leave you with this:  If you are not sure about GOD, JESUS and HOLY SPIRIT, GOD says to ask Him.  He is more ready to answer your questions than you are to ask.  Sometimes, we don't even know the questions to ask.  In this case... one word will suffice.  HELP!  GOD hears you because HE loves you with an everlasting love... there is no place where HE cannot find you or help you.

Love and Blessings to All,

Karen

RISE UP!

Thursday September 10, 2020

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It does not take a prophet to see that our nation is in a critical hour. Just the facts. Trouble on every side, fear of disease and death,  people sighing and crying for justice and equality; not understanding that the very idea that they are fighting for does not come from government. Our rights only come from GOD. They are GOD given and indisputable according to the Holy Bible, which is the WORD of GOD.

There are two typing tests which I remember from high school typing class, which I have never forgotten:

1. “Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their county”

2. “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”

At this point in history, both seem to be appropriate. Our country is in need of prayer and the fox has jumped over the lazy Christians who refused to stand up for Biblical values.

2 Chronicles 7:14 has been quoted much in recent months:

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Yes, God is always near to those of a repentant heart and broken spirit. Yes, He forgives every sin confessed in piety as far as the east is from the west and He does not remember them, as if they had never happened!

GOD has given us everything we need to combat evil. It is the message of the cross and the gospel of the Kingdom of the LORD Jesus Christ found in the gospels, books of Acts, Romans and Hebrews. (First and Second Corinthians and the book of Ephesians are critical to understand the weapons of our warfare.)

Believe what the Scripture says...Jesus was the only begotten son of the Living GOD. He came to earth as a supernaturally conceived child in the womb of the virgin Mary. He grew up in the the faith of his parents and learned through discipline and obedience. He was baptized in the river Jordan by his cousin, John the Baptist. When he came up from the waters of the Jordan, the Holy Spirit came down like a dove upon him and a voice from heaven (FATHER GOD) said, “This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.”

Soon after the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert to be tempted for 40 days. Jesus fought the devil’s temptation with scripture. After 40 days, angels came to minister unto Jesus. Then, his final ministry began and he taught with supernatural knowledge, wisdom, discernment, power and authority, amazing all the peoples. He even told his disciples of his death, resurrection and ascension soon to come in Matthew 13. He plainly told then the meaning of the parables because they needed to understand the gospel of the Kingdom.

But, this challenged the power and authority of the Religious Leaders and they conspired to kill him. They did not understand the writings of the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 6 and 53 in particular) and other prophets who prophesied of a coming Messiah who would suffer and die for the sins of his people.

The Bible and even history record (remember the Shroud of Turin?) that Jesus was indeed crucified and risen from the dead. The Bible tells us that after His resurrection and ascension to heaven, Jesus returned to the earth and taught his disciples for 40 days. Not much is written about those precious 40 days of instruction, except that Jesus taught on the Kingdom. Afterwards, his disciples obeyed his instructions to go to the upper room and wait for the baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire. The Holy Spirit came with tongues of fire and 120 people were baptized, speaking in unknown languages and appearing drunk to the multitude of people who were in town for holy days. Peter spoke out and said, “These men are not drunk as you suppose, but ... this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel:

 According to Acts 2: 17-21:

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire and vapor of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the LORD come: And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

It is also written that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in the Spirit. It is written that God is a Spirit and must be worshipped in Spirit. Jesus said that we must be born again and baptized in the Spirit to understand what life is all about. Jesus said that Holy Spirit will teach you and tell you things to come. It is not a suggestion, it is mandatory that we understand what GOD is saying to us by His Spirit in these last days! This is what the disciples taught and that is why they turned the whole world upside down. It is the power of the gospel to be saved and it is the goodness of the LORD that brings forth repentance and repentance that leads unto salvation. (See 2 Corinthians 7:10)

When Jesus was in the desert, his weapon of choice was Scripture. What would happen if Christians would use their God-given authority and just say “NO!”?

What would happen if we would just say: “No, not on my watch. Devils you will not cause death, damage and destruction in my town”! And quote scripture at them in the privacy of our homes, if need be? Spirits are not bound by walls. They operate in the air, according to Ephesians 6, we fight against powers and principalities of the air. In the book of Daniel, he prayed in his room but, his answer was delayed... the angel was delayed 21 days... because the angel was delayed in battle (in the air) and had to have the Arch Angel Michael help him! Heavenly angels only do the will of GOD. They are his ministering spirits to us. Surely if we quote God’s word, they will come to our aid by the LORD’s command just as the angel came to Daniel!

Why do we think we are powerless to change our situation? We have great and might powerful words that we could be using against the powers and principalities that are seeking to destroy our nation and our way of life! We need to rise up and speak the words of life, not death!

Blessings and Hope,

Karen

Quoted scripture was taken from KJV Bible.

YEAST

                                            YEAST

Today, as of this writing, April 02, 2020, yeast is not found in most of the grocery stores in the United States. In fact, I had a pastor tell me that he has searched everywhere in his town and cannot find yeast. A friend in Ohio has written that yeast is non-existent in their town.

Why is there suddenly no commercial yeast to be found? I would guess, yeast is a very scarce item in the grocery store because of the panic of the people who are afraid that they might not be able to buy food in the days to come, because of the Coronavirus COVID-19. The subsequent request/order to “Shelter in place” by the local and state governments as of this writing has caused many people to purchase supplies out of fear. In their panic, they bought food and baking supplies in large quantities to store in their homes.

The store supply chain could not keep up with panic buying. Food, groceries and other supplies are mostly trucked into various locations for distribution warehouses.  Most of these supplies are set up on a delivery on demand basis, depending on the store and it's location.

The first thing that the people did at the mention of a pandemic is to buy outrageous supplies of toilet paper! When people panic, they do and say things that they would not ordinarily say and do! I do understand that at this time, toilet paper and other paper goods are quite hard to locate. And, flour is in short supply, but there is still a lot of wheat in storage in America, so probably that will help this problem as it is trucked to the flour mills in the coming days.

Did you know that yeast can be captured in your own kitchen by just mixing flour and water? Although, it takes a few days to make sour dough bread starter, it is quite easy to keep going indefinitely. I will post a website at the end of this article that will aid in helping to make this bread starter.

Yeast is, according to Wikipedia:
"Yeasts are eukaryotic, single-celled microorganisms classified as members of the fungus kingdom. The first yeast originated hundreds of millions of years ago, and at least 1,500 species are currently recognized."

https://oureverydaylife.com/does-heat-kill-lactobacillus-bacteria-in-sourdough-12630864.html

"Lactobacillus bacteria are the stars behind sourdough, but once they have done their job to end flavor and height, these hearty bacteria are killed in the baking process. Lactobacillus Basics Lactobacillus bacteria are cultivated in a starter culture for making sourdough and provide the leavening action for bread in the absence of commercial yeast."

In order for bread to rise, it must have leaven or yeast in some form. It could be purchased yeast from the grocery store, in the form of dry, cake and instant, fast rising yeast, or it could be in the form of sourdough as in the explanation found in the above website.

Matthew 13...So, what does Matthew 13 have to do with yeast?
Yeast is mentioned in Matthew chapter 13 verse 33... "Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, (yeast), which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole batch was leavened.”
(The yeast caused the mixture to rise.)

Now, we shall discover what this meant to the disciples and maybe what it might mean to us.

In Matthew chapter 13, We read that Jesus went out of the house to sit by the lake. However, such a crowd gathered around him that he got into a boat away from the shore and spoke to those on the shore from the boat. He told them many things in parables.

Definition of a parable; I am using two references here, the first is the world view and the second is a Biblical view:

A parable is according to: https://www.thefreedictionary.com/parable

"1. a short allegorical story designed to illustrate or teach some truth, religious principle, or moral lesson. 2. a statement or comment that conveys a meaning indirectly by the use of comparison, analogy, or the like. parable. A story told by Jesus to convey his religious message."

Excerpt from above website, paragraph 4:

"Jesus' narrative parables are probably best understood as extended metaphors. The story (the image) is a window through which a larger reality (the referent) is depicted. Understanding the message of a parable is more than identifying its ‘point’ though many parables do have a focal point that is reinforced by the parable as a whole. thus it is crucial both to understand the story as it would have been understood by Jesus’ original hearers, and to understand the referent, the wider reality about which it gives insight. Typically the referent is some aspect of the kingdom of God, the reign of God in people’s hearts, or the realm of God’s sovereignty. In order to let the parable have it’s full impact, we need to see the referent in a new way through the parable story."

We will take a closer look at Matthew chapter 13. There are Five parables in the first 35 verses of Matthew 13. The first parable that Jesus spoke about was the parable of the seed:
Jesus told them many things in parables: Matthew 13:4-11

(Parable 1)
"A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he sowed, some seed fell alongside the path; and the birds came and ate it up. Other seed fell on rocky patches where there was not much soil. It sprouted quickly because the soil was shallow; but when the sun had risen, the young plants were scorched; and since their roots were not deep, they dried up. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. But others fell into rich soil and produced grain, a hundred or sixty or thirty times as much as had been sown. Those who have ears, let them hear!" And, the disciples came to him and asked him, why do you speak in parables? He answered and said to them, "Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given."

(The seed here is probably barley or wheat (in the natural, physical form) and also is understood to be the Word of God. ( in the spiritual sense)

This sounds quite harsh...why was it not given to the others to understand?

We will find out why in Verse 12:

"12 For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him."

Jesus was talking about the knowledge of God that was known to the people. Many of the people did not want to know anything about God, but they did want the healings and to see the miracles.
Even many of the Hebrew children did not want to obey the laws of God that Moses had brought down from the mountain of God in the form of two tablets of the law, which we know as the Ten Commandments. They preferred to do the desires of their hearts including sacrificing their children to other gods such as Baal. They did not want anybody to tell them what to do!

Continuing with Verse 13:
"Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.
14 And in them the prophecy of Isaiah (see Isaiah 6:9) is fulfilled, which says: 'Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive;
15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them."

Another words, if they would take to heart their sins, their transgressions from the laws of God and Repent of their sins, God would heal their hearts and give them His promises...love, peace, hope of future and many more things.

These things, the blessings and the cursings can be found listed, in detail, in Deuteronomy chapters 26-29.

But, to the disciples, Jesus said this:

Verses 16,17:
"But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;
for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it."

I believe Jesus is telling his disciples that those righteous people that lived before them, wanted to see Him... to see Jesus... Himself. Those saints desired to be in the position that the disciples were in, but it was not meant for them to be alive at that time of the Messiah. It was those 12 disciples, who were given the privilege to actually be with the promised Messiah, to be in His presence to actually learn from the promised Messiah! Those who had lived in generations past had believed in this prophecy of the Messiah coming to pass and had hoped to be alive when it did come to pass, but this was not God’s plan for them to be alive when these things came to pass. So, because it was God’s plan for the disciples to know and understand their purpose in God’s plan, the Messiah, Jesus, Himself would teach them what God’s plan was and what their part would be in this plan and for what purpose He, Jesus, had been born.

On to verse 18; "Therefore hear the parable of the sower:"

(Parable 2)
Verses 19-23 "When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty."

(Parable 3)
Verse 24-30 "Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, 'Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?' He said to them, 'An enemy has done this.' The servants said to him, 'Do you want us then to go and gather them up?' But he said, 'No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn."

I am not sure exactly what tares are.  I have read that they look like wheat plants until the harvest, but their seed is black and poisonous.  As the wife of a farmer, I do know what a nuisance wild rye is in a wheat field! Although the days of rye pulling are long gone for me, my grandchildren understand that pulling the taller rye plants out of a wheat field a few weeks before harvest is no fun at all!

Wild rye is always taller than wheat or barley and they have large upright heads of grain. They are very bitter to the taste and not fit to eat. The barley or wheat are fairly uniform in the field and the rye is  easily seen even before time for the harvest. Also, it is interesting to note, that when the wheat and barley plants are ready for harvest, they actually to start to bow their heads of grain,  but the rye heads stand up proudly bowing to no one!

(Parable 4)
Verse 31-32
"Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field,
32 which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches."

(Parable 5)
Verses 33-35
"Another parable He spoke to them: "The kingdom of heaven is like leaven (leaven is yeast), which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal (flour) till it was all leavened."
34 All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them,
35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: "I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world."
36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, "Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field."

Starting at verse 37... the crowd was gone at this point of the story. The disciples still could not understand what the parables meant and so the story continues:

Verses 37-43
"37 He answered, "He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"

To further clarify this, Jesus said:

44 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

45 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

47 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, which, when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away.

49 So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth."
51 Jesus said to them, "Have you understood all these things?"
They said to Him, "Yes, Lord."

It seems clear at this point, that the disciples understood they were to be obedient to do all that Jesus was teaching them. Also, they were to remember the things that he said, even if they did not fully understand them or when these things would all come to pass.

Verses 52-58
"Then He said to them, "Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old." Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these parables, that He departed from there. And when He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, "Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works? Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these things?" So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house." Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief."

Yeast is used as an example of a good thing in Matthew 13. Today, if you had yeast it would be a very good thing... especially if you had flour, too! These things are in the natural. Many people would have no idea what to do with the yeast and the flour, even if they had it in their possession! If, one compared the physical yeast to the WORD of GOD in the spiritual sense, this could be another reason why people are in a panic.
I saw a photo online, in which at that particular Walmart store, the Bible section was completely empty except for a few NIV Bibles! Many people have Bibles... some even have several Bibles. But, many have no idea what the WORD actually says. Now, they are rushing out to buy the Bible and hopefully read it.
I have given you some things to think about. Do not take my word for anything. Do your own research. Ask God to help you. He always answers a sincere heart-cry. Don’t wait until it’s too late. Yesterday is gone. We only have today. We do not know what may come tomorrow. Things can and do change overnight.

Love and Blessings to all,

Karen

2017 - Year Of Repentance

Note:  I have just lost all my commentary on the following post.  I have been kicked off the internet numerous times in the hours I have been working on this post.  I am done for tonight. I am only posting my Journal entry..as the LORD gave me the words.

2017 - Year Of Repentance

The Words GOD Gave Me for 2017
Saturday, December 3, 2016
“Cry, Cry…what shall I cry?”  ….from Isaiah 40…….2017 – Year of Repentence
I was just sitting in my recliner enjoying some of my favorite CD’s, thinking about the Presence of the LORD, and I heard;  June 17, 2017 – Day of Mourning.”
What?????  Did I hear you???  What is the meaning of that?
“Day of discouragement”   6-17-17
LORD? What is the meaning of THAT?  America’s last stand???
“Choose wisely”
“Rejoice in the LIGHT – Again, I say, R-E-J-O-I-C-E (that your name is written in the heavenly books)”

…Sing the song of the Redeemed;  for God dwells in the praises of His people.

Was thinking about the LORD’s Prayer and the 23rd Psalm…both so well known....GOD’s will being done on earth...”Were my current prayers in accord with the will of GOD?”
I do not want to be found praying against the will of GOD!
I heard a voice, not an audible voice,  but in my heart;  “Daughter of Israel, sing unto me thy praise.”
I thought to myself…what shall I sing?
“Sing the song of the redeemed.”  “Look it up”
What is the song of the redeemed????  So, I googled it.  I was surprised to find that there are several songs with that title. I listened to several.  My favorite was:
“Song of the Redeemd” by Anna Purdum    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ky6p3nx5ylQ
Revelation 14:2-3
At the end of the song these words were typed:
Every song was once a “new song”.

“Cry, cry what shall I cry”...this has been going around my hear like an earworm!!!!
So, I looked it up and read it again.

I copied it from the KJV and the RSV

Isaiah 40:6King James Version (KJV)

The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:

Isaiah 40:6Revised Standard Version (RSV)

A voice says, “Cry!”
And I said, “What shall I cry?”
All flesh is grass,
and all its beauty is like the flower of the field.

The LORD is looking for true repenctence.
2 Chronicles 16: 9      KJV
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

2 Chronicles 16:9      Revised Standard Version (RSV)
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show his might in behalf of those whose heart is blameless toward him. You have done foolishly in this; for from now on you will have wars.”
So, this is what I believe GOD is saying by His Spirit to me:
“Repent personally and corporately for all the evil that has been revealed in this country in the past few months, …. Even, what may yet be revealed.  (Wiki Leaks has, up to this point in time, never been wrong). In times past, before GOD rendered judgments (or some call them the Pleadings of the LORD) , He first revealed the sins of a people/nation.  If they repented, they were spared or blessed in some way…if not, they went into war or captivity or even destroyed.  In the event of Korah…Numbers 26:10…the earth opened up and swallowed them up.
I think, we are at a time in history that we must repent, or we might be facing one of the above!  Also, IF …..we are in the end time of the End Times… we had better be on our knees! Because,  without GOD’s protection, we will be toast!  The Bible says that an Angel is sent out to put a mark on the forehead of everyone who is sighing and crying for the abomantions being done in the earth.

Ezekiel 9:3-5Amplified Bible (AMP)

Then the [[a]Shekinah] glory and brilliance of the God of Israel (the cloud) [b]went up from the cherubim on which it had rested, to [stand above] the threshold of the [Lord’s] temple. And the Lord called to the man clothed with linen, who had the scribe’s writing case at his side. The Lord said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, throughout all of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh [in distress] and grieve over all the repulsive acts which are being committed in it.” But to the others I heard Him say, “Follow him [the man with the scribe’s writing case] throughout the city and strike; do not let your eyes have pity and do not spare [anyone].
There is also another mark or seal:
Revelation 13:16
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

I am not sure where we are in history…perhaps we are in the last few years. I have always felt that I would still be here when Jesus returns….but so have many others through the years.   All I know for sure, is that many of the prophecies of the Bible have come to pass in my lifetime, that were impossible in years past, because of lack of technology.
Lack of technology is not a problem today.  The doubling of computer processing speed every 18 months, known as Moore's Law, is just one manifestation of the greater trend that all technological change occurs at an exponential rate.

More commentary to come at a later date.

May you have a Blessed New Year!

2016 - Year of Recompense???

2016 --- Year of Recompense???

Dear Ones,

Good morning! It's a glorious sunshiny Sunday… January 03, 2016!

How did you spend your New Year’s Eve?  What are you envisioning for 2016?  Two questions we all think about… one way or another!

Years ago, I inquired of some very good friends, “What do you do on New Year’s Eve?”    They gave a quick glance at one another and then quietly spoke, “We don’t go anywhere. We spend the time in prayer and seeking GOD’s will for the coming year.”

What a wonderful tradition!  I decided then and there, I would do the same.  I cannot think of a better way to bring in the New Year than with GOD’s blessings!  So now, that has become my tradition…spending New Year's Eve at home seeking the LORD's guidance for the coming New Year!

Reading through my journal entries of past years, I can see now how GOD has worked in my life through this time I have set aside for HIM each year.   Sometimes GOD has given me a complete sentence to ponder for the future... but mostly just a word or two, sometimes He has given me a Bible verse location or a partial verse or phrase…meaning it was up to me to “search it out”! Always, GOD has given me a "word" in due season.  It is written :
Matthew 6:33         Aramaic Bible in Plain English
But seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

At the beginning, I was just seeking a prophetic word for my life and my families.  But, as the years have gone by, I could see that "Word" could also be applied to the body of Christ as well.  Usually about the time I think of writing Christmas cards, I start wondering what the “Word” will be for the coming year. The past several years, God has given me a "Word" before I even began to seek Him concerning the coming year!
I was lying in bed on December 26, 2015 at 12:59 AM...just thinking about the recent family Christmas...the things of the past year. It occurred to me, …..I had not even thought about asking GOD for a "Word", nor had He given me one for the coming year!

It was at that moment I clearly heard the Holy Spirit ask me, "What did Elisha do?"
When GOD asks me a question, I pay attention because I know He wants to reveal something to me!  I understood I was to do a search on the life and ministry of Elisha. ... To seek out the WORD so that I would find the "word for 2016". I think it is "Healing and Restoration" for my families and also for the body of Christ, both Jew and Gentile.

However, as I sat down to write in my journal for the first entry of 2016; @ 8:38 AM, Saturday, January 2, 2016....
I found myself writing across the top of the page ….  2016-Year of recompense.
Recompense….what exactly does that mean?

The first verse that came to mind was…”render her double for her inequity is great ..

Revelation 18:6    (English Revised Version)
“Render unto her even as she rendered, and double unto her the double according to her works: in the cup which she mingled, mingle unto her double.”

The second one was a little more comforting:

Ruth 2:12           (King James Version)
The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.

There are more writings/verses on the "rendering of vengeance than good towards men on earth ... I am thinking that it will probably be both... Healing and restoration of the body of Christ...bringing the family of GOD together & also wicked men getting their reward for the evil they have done ... Each man in their own time...
In the late 1990's, my Bible Study ladies & I sponsored a 3-day seminar on Prophecy at Penalosa. The speakers, "Mike and Kay McQuiddy", were from Colorado Springs, wealthy business people who found Jesus ...following their fall from wealth. Anyway, he spoke of a time soon coming which would truly be, "The best of times and the worst of times at the same time." This was my introduction into eschatology.  Mike spoke of a man whom  he believed to be a great man of GOD, Henry Gruver.  Henry  calls this season of time, "the multiplication factor";... Whatever is in a person will be multiplied ... The glorious church doing signs and wonders…. and the great powers of darkness of the evil forces coming together for the time of the end ....known as The Great Tribulation, or as the scripture says... "The time of Jacob's trouble."
The times we live in today are surely the last minutes of the end times spoken of in the Holy Scriptures.   Never before have we had the wisdom and technology to understand the prophetic events  spoken about in the Bible. We do now understand these events ……as they come to pass before our very eyes in the headlines of the news! Truly we hear the news speak of wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes in many places, sink holes…erratic weather, persecution, beheadings… evil men working their evil deeds without fear of recompense from the people.

Yet, millions of people world-wide are giving their hearts to Jesus!   Some from the Middle East even saying that Jesus appeared to them in a vision!  Even more astonishing is this except from the internet:

“More than 25 prominent rabbis from Israel and abroad recently issued a statement calling for a renewed look at Jesus, Christians and the New Testament faith. Quoting from their own sages, these outstanding  Orthodox rabbis are not ashamed to exalt the name of Jesus, welcoming the carpenter from Nazareth back into the Jewish fold."..........................."And there is more. “After nearly two millennia of mutual hostility and alienation, we Orthodox Rabbis who lead communities, institutions and seminaries in Israel, the United States and Europe… seek to do the will of our Father in Heaven by accepting the hand offered to us by our Christian brothers and sisters,”

(Above Paragraph is Quoted from a posted internet article from  “Israel Today”:  Orthodox Rabbis Bring Jesus Home for Christmas  - Thursday, December 24, 2015 |  David Lazarus)

Yes, it is the time of Joel chapter 2:

Joel 2:28              KingJames Version (KJV)
28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
We do indeed serve an AWESOME GOD!
May the Blessings of the LORD GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob be upon you and overcome you in 2016!

Peace …Shalom ,
Karen
